Two births occurred during July within an hour of each other. There was considerable media interest and Mayfield Alpacas was featured on ITV Calendar news bulletins during the following day. One of the Cria was over two weeks premature and weighed only 12 pounds at birth. After close attention around the clock the young male "Commodore" now weighs 21 pounds after a fortnight and is very full of life.
